My favorite places to eat in Sydney
Walking around in Sydney and soaking in everything in that beautiful city makes hungry. To have even more energy for running around, you can jump in one of those cafés or try all of them 🙂 And if you like fish and seafood, you will find a hint for a great place to go to after my listed café recommendations 🙂
Four ate five: The best French toast with berry compote and mascarpone on top. There also comes extra maple syrup with it. I have eaten there three times now. And I have always ordered this awesome French toast. First time I ate it, it came with rhubarb compote. I highly recommend it! The staff was always friendly there. The café looks a bit like a long corridor, at the end of it you can see the kitchen. You can also sit outside. It’s about one kilometer away from the Central station. Walking takes around 13 minutes. You can also take the L2 to Surry Hills Station and then you only walk three minutes to the café.
Four ate five: 485 Crown Street, Surry Hills, Sydney
Toast Café: The best orange poppy seed muffin. Fluffy, fruity and flavored with poppy seeds. Being back in Sydney after two years I wanted to go back to that café just because of that muffin. And I was lucky: They still had one more left when I came in on a rainy day. It was as delicious as before. I also had an avocado toast with a poached egg and a seed chip (they must have a thing with seeds at that location) there, which was also tasty. But that muffin was my favorite! A six minute walk away from the Central Station.
Toast Café: 45 Reservoir St, Surry Hills, Sydney
Elisabeth Bay Café: Beetroot-dipped salmon with cucumber, salad and onions on sourdough bread. Good lunch before taking a three minute walk to Elisabeth Bay, one of my favorite bays in Sydney. The café is located on a street corner and visited by lot of local people. There are fresh flowers on every table. Lots of choices for different sandwiches, bagels and bowls. The staff is very friendly. Ten minute walk away from King Cross Station.
Elisabeth Bay Café: 45 Elisabeth Bay Road, Sydney
You are longing for fresh food and seafood? Then you should not miss the Sydney fish market. No fish wish will remain unfulfilled there! Sushi, fresh fish in all forms, seafood and the best thing next to the great taste: It’s affordable! I have tried scallops in lemon butter and fine sliced tuna and white fish, it was so fresh and it felt like the tuna melted on my tongue. Plan enough time, because it’s hard to decide what to eat first! 25 minute walk from Town Hall station, you can also take a train.
Sydney Fish Market: Bank Street, Pyrmont, Sydney
